European Tennis Event

European Tennis Event Owen M (Year 8) competed in another Tennis Europe event held in Buckinghamshire last weekend.

This was another successful event for him, he got to the semis of the doubles and lost out narrowly on a tie break after winning two matches against a French pair and a British pair who are GB players.

Owen played extremely well in the singles, he won in straight sets against a French national team player and then narrowly lost in three sets to the GB no 1 but played really well!

He has also been watched and introduced to the GB coaching team who feel he is playing very well at the moment; we are hoping with his recent success in the national over half term where he again made the quarter finals this will be a positive step for him!

Owen has also made progress in the country rankings, he is now ranked at a high of 20 for 12 under nationals. He has become the county number one player this week for the first time and been selected for the forthcoming county cup event to represent Hampshire where he will play a mixture of singles and doubles against Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Berkshire and Buckinghamshire.

Well done Owen
