Year 8 and 10 Paella Night

Year 8 and 10 Paella Night What started as a one-off event has turned into a regular annual feature in the social calendar of our current Year 8 and Year 10 families. Wanting to offer an opportunity for parents to meet informally, two families with children in both those year-groups got together three years ago to organise an evening with fantastic home-cooked paella, a bucket (literally!) of home-made sangria – and plenty of opportunities to meet old and new friends. The Gregg School, in their usual generous way, offered the use of the fabulous school grounds, with the marquee on the sun-dial lawn acting both as a focal point as well as a bolt hole in case of inclement weather. Fortunately, the weather was kind this year (although seasoned Paella Do goers were reminiscing about the torrential downpours last year) and over 50 people relaxed and enjoyed the food and the atmosphere last Saturday. As an added benefit, the event raised £145 which has been donated to the FROGS and will be used to finance those “little extras” which will benefit all pupils at the Gregg.

Right, that’s it for this year – here’s looking forward to the 2018 paella!
