Roman House Chess Victory

Taking part in my school’s house chess competition was the perfect opportunity to play against more challenging players and prove that I was good at chess.

My hardest game was the semi-finals, as I really messed up at the start of the game and offered a draw, but my opponent did not except it. In the end I took him by surprise and checkmated him just as he was about to win. I am proud to have got all the way and won. Also, the pressure of it being a competitive tournament made all of my games exciting. All in all I had a great time and it was worth taking part!
